I found the book to start off quite slowly. If you're a lover of the arts you will love the first part of the book as its very art centric. The story follows Adam who at 13 had to move out of their prestigious home after her father passed away, still longing for a life of power and influence she gets in with a crowd who are everything she wants to be. She lies and tricks her way in to their circle thinking she is building a solid friendship with them all. But can anything built on a pack of lies be that solid. I found most of the characters quite unlikeable and without any redeeming qualities, so much so I couldn't find myself wanting them to come out on top. The main character does grow on you throughout the book and I ended up hoping for the best for her. This book will appear to those who love art, the classics and Italy as the picture the author paints of these will make you feel as if you are there with her. A good book and worth a read.
