Ada had been given a chance by her Godmother to go to Italy where she meets people who she aspires to be, so this is her opportunity to show a different persona. She wants to portray someone who is sophisticated and cultured, she also wants to be popular and needed within the group. She keeps a secret for the two most popular people within the group but it comes to bite her..
This is the first time I've read a book from the author Laura Vaughan. I did not particularly like the main character in The Favour, but I believe this is as the author intended and means that she did a good job. Laura also did an excellent job at describing the details of the artwork and of the historical buildings. There were times where the language used was quite hard to follow but I think that could be an insight of how Ada felt, out of her depth. I felt that the book was probably longer than it needed to be as there were parts of the book that was quite a slow burn. Saying that, I enjoyed the subtle twist at the end and was not expecting it.
