The book is beautifully written and the words flow off the page. The beginning is descriptive and introduced Ada and the life she has, one which she feels she doesn't deserves, she wants better. She feels hard done to and wants to be a higher class than she currently is. She fails with the choices she made as she wasn't good enough and instead she is offered a summer in Italy, all expenses paid. Ada is a hard character to like and is always seeking to get something for nothing and this leads to her summer trip away which turns out to also not work out for her.
There is a lot of introductions and characters to meet and is was a little overwhelming but this soon settled down and is easier to follow.
I felt the story could be figured out but there was always another little twist coming. It was a great book with a flawed lead character which ultimately is more true to life than a more likeable one.
