The Flatshare is a brilliant concept, Tiffy and Leon share not just a flat, but one bedroom with one bed as well. This book has a fun, amusing start but with the serious underlying message about the difficulty of finding affordable accommodation in London. Tiffy has split up with her boyfriend and needs to find somewhere she can afford to live on her meagre salary from her job as an assistant editor. Leon is a palliative care nurse working nights who needs to increase his income, to help Richie who is in jail and needs money for his appeal, so comes up with the plan for a flat/bedroom/bed share. I know from the first few chapters that Beth O'Leary is going to provide lots of fun and laughter as well as some thought-provoking moments in her debut novel.
