It took me a little while to get into this book properly. I think it was the way in which Leon's perspective was written. But once I took in the fact of him being a nurse and how progress notes are written for patients it normalised it for me in my head. Once I passed over this issue I couldn’t put it down. Even with the trigger warnings of toxic relationships and emotional abuse, the author has written in a way that Tiffy becomes empowered and is able to overcome her previous relationship so she can be happy in her life and a new relationship. Everything in this story is realistic and for some can be relatable without it being far-fetched allowing me to connect to the characters. I did love this book, it made me laugh and at one point did have tears in my eyes. Maybe if I didn’t take a while to get into the book it would have scored a 5. Even with me loving this book, for me, The Switch is still my number one. I can’t wait to read another Beth O’Leary book.
