This book is a friend’s hug when you need a cheering up. It is uplifting, charming and funny. I laugh out loud so much. A perfect rom-com wrapped up in book body. Personally, I loved this book. It is easy to sink in the plot and once you get involved – there is no going back! You will fell for Leon – this introvert of a nurse, who cares more for his patients than for himself. And there is Tiffy, a girl I will die to be a friend with! She radiates positive energy, so cheerful and colorful as a personality.
Though the book is supposed to be a comedy, it deals with some serious problems such as psychological abuse and gaslighting. The author handles this in a very relevant way and engages this topic with the story amazingly skillful. It is meant to be a light read and it is such because the sensible subject is very well presented. It somehow aims to make you aware of these forms of abuse, which are very hard to identify when you are the victim but keep the easy-read manner.
_IMG_9041 A bit for the set up of the book. Tiffy works as an editor of DIY books. She’s been living in her coward ex’s apartment. Until he forced her to move out. She falls into the situation of not having where to live, not having high enough incomes to afford to pay rent. And there is a solution. An add can save her and put an end of her misery. A shared flat. Or should I say – a shared bed?. His owner works nights and sleeps in the daytime. Whereas, she works during the day and sleeps in nights. They will never meet. Leon, on the other hand, needs money. He is a bit frighten of sharing his bed with a complete stranger, but he really needs this money. Yeah, they are ordinary people with such mundane problems. An obsessive, abusing ex who won’t take ‘no’ as an answer is Tiffy great problem. While Leon’s brother is put behind bars for armed robbery – an unjust sentence according to him, Leon and their mother.

In the beginning, they communicate only through post-its. And I loved this part. It romanticizes the story a lot – to share your thoughts and your day-to-day routine and relationship struggles with somebody you’ve never met.
The story is captivating. I inhaled it in 2-sittings. It is full of unexpected twist and turnovers. It makes you cry and laugh with Tiffy, Leon and their friends and relatives. Reading this book, you can’t even think of the fact that this is a debut! Yeah, it is a debut. A great one! I enjoyed it from start to finish. The Flatshare is a must-read book for every romance-lover.
