A light easy romantic novel, easy to get into and kept me reading to the end, completing it in just two sessions. It is written in a diary style, which isn’t really my cup of tea, but I wanted to read it because of its recent popularity. I’m glad I did. I didn’t click that well with the characters at first but I appreciate that it takes some time to build up their unusual relationship. I think the author has done well at portraying love as an enhancement to life rather than the only thing, which is clever considering this is largely a romantic read. I think this book is perfect for a summer holiday/beach or to whisk you away a few hours in lockdown. I will likely look out for this author’s work in the future although I hope her style shifts away from diary writing a little; she hasn’t convinced me to like this it with this book. I give it a firm 4 stars.
