Wow what an amazing read this was. The first time I’ve read a book in a day (well, 25 hours to be exact!) in a very long time. I just loved everything about it!

First of all the storyline is slightly different to your average ‘boy meets girl’ as in Tiffy and Leon don’t meet! They share a flat, a bed, but have never met. They communicate through post it notes to each other and this allows the book to focus on them both as individuals first and see their relationship develop alongside that. I love the note format, it’s a quirky, fun aspect of the book and it kind of makes you feel as if you are nosing straight into their lives. It connects you with both Tiffy and Leon and makes you feel as though you are a part of their relationship.

And as individuals they are both very likeable characters, I fell in love with both of them. They both have something big going on in their lives and this is where I think this book stands out in a sea of women’s fiction. Leon has a brother who has been wrongfully imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. Tiffy has just come out of an abusive relationship which she is struggling to come to terms with. These aspects add a bit of depth to the storyline and seperate it from your average fluffy rom com (although it is still a bit fluffy, don’t worry!). And these storylines are well explored with proper conclusions, no half arsed, quick wrap it up endings around here.

Sometimes you become so invested in characters of a book that you could read about them continuously, that is how I feel about Tiffy and Leon. I would love a sequel, 10 sequels even. They don’t even have to have a strong plot, I would happily read about their day to life forever. I love them so much!
Beth O’Leary is clearly a very talented writer and definitely one to look out for. I have ner next novel, The Switch to read and am looking forward to it very much. I feel like O’Leary’s is a name we will be hearing a lot over the next few years!
