Let me just preface this by saying that I'm not a huge romance reader at all. In fact, this is probably my 1st or 2nd adult romance ever.

I was mainly intrigued by the concept of this story, and finally decided to give it a chance a few days ago. Now the book wasn't bad at all; I liked it at times but also had some issues with it. My main issue was that since it's obviously not a mystery book and we could all guess the ending from the synopsis alone, why did it take almost 400 pages to get to that ending?! 🥲

I would have understood if it was a fantasy book, and the world-building and other intricate details made the book longer, but a straight-up romance that's this long? thanks but no thanks 😕

Having said that, I still really enjoyed all the other aspects of the book even though it felt stretched at times. So, it was just a mediocre experience overall which just made me realize why I didn't read romance to begin with.
