The story develops over duelling narrative chapters and for the first few months of living in the same flat, Tiffy and Leon communicate via post-it notes placed around the flat. Over time, they start to get to know each other via these notes and items left around the flat.

Beth O'Leary's writing is relatable and witty. She created such likeable characters, my favourites were Gerty and Rachel, both hilarious and I desperately want them to be my actual friends!! But let’s be honest, I loved them all.

Over the course of the book and as the post-it notes build up, you start to fall in love with both Tiffy and Leon and see them overcome their own personal obstacles. Tiffy is trying to move on from her controlling and emotionally abusive ex-boyfriend Justin and Leon is campaigning for the appeal of his wrongly convicted brother while also juggling nights as a palliative nurse. Thanks to O'Leary's brilliant writing, I felt a big connection with Tiffy and Leon, I was invested. The build up to them actually meeting was excruciating!!😆

I can’t believe this is O'Leary's debut novel. It’s truly heartwarming, uplifting and charming. It made me laugh out loud and it made me cry my eyes out at the end. I was lost when I finished it. It’s a feel-good read about the power of friendship, love and trust.

It’s funny because as I read the last few pages of this book, I decided to listen to some music, just a random shuffle on my phone. The song that played was Just Like Heaven by The Cure...random yes but that’s exactly was this book was for me!
Do me a favour and grab yourself a copy of this book when it comes out. It's my favourite book of the year so far without a doubt.
