This was a great story, i found it really interesting as I had never read anything based around a travelling theatre on a boat before. I love historical fiction stories especially books set around the 1800's and this book is based in 1837 in Ohio. The boat travels along the Ohio River and gives us a great insight into how people lived in the different villages along the river at this time. The story also touches on the subject of slavery, which is a subject I like to find out more about.
It was beautifully written and I loved all the characters especially May the lead character. I was intrigued from beginning to end.
The front cover is gorgeous too and matches the story perfectly. I can't wait to read more from this author.
