I bought this book instantly after really loving the cover design without looking too much into the actual story but I'm glad I did. It takes place during 1830s America which I personally don't find that often in historical fiction and have never gotten the chance to read. I immediately loved the way it was written and how fast paced the story flowed. I love that this book also delves into things that happened In America in the 1800s like social class and more importantly slavery, which was very hard to read in some spots but gives an insight of how humans treat other humans in such a dehumanising and Terrible way. I was also surprised that the main character Is also hinted of being neurodivergent which was obviously not seen back in the early 1800s and it was so interesting to see the world from her point of view. I would totally recommend this book to anyone interested in historical fiction.
