Sadly, I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I thought I would especially as it was a book about books. Unfortunately it fell short of its promise for me. The book starts well with the murder of Adam Diehl a reclusive book collector but then the book for me seemed to lose the plot and the story then drifts slowly along until the conclusion. It is a well written book and the writer is obviously knowledgeable about the rare book World which was an interesting backdrop to the story.

The story is written in the first person by Will. Will is Adam’s sister‘s boyfriend who has previously been convicted for forgery in the literary World. Shortly after the murder Will starts to receive handwritten letters written by long dead authors but really from someone who seems to know who killed Adam and about Will’s own past. Will has to now do everything he can to protect himself, and Adam’s sister Meghan from any further threats.
