The Forgers by Bradford Morrow is a good book, and despite the horrific crimes that are made to books within the story, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good murdery mystery, with an added bonus of having a bookish theme!

Morrow is clearly well versed in his craft as the writing is of a wonderful standard, elegant and deliberate without being overly flowery in hopes of beauty. It's powerfully written, well paced and I was pretty hooked from the first sentence: "They never found his hands".

I will say that it has an excellent and dramatic start that left me hoping for more, as it took a while to get used to the slower pacing that the story has for the majority of the novel, but this was a blessing in disguise as it allowed you to not only appreciate the poetic phrases that litter the pages, but also really get to know the characters on a deeper level.

The only caveat as that this is definitely a book for book lovers, it is well researched and Morrow proves this via spending a considerable amount of time describing things that personally I found fascinating, but I can see how others less interested in the subject could get bored.
