I thought this might be right up my street - and how right I was The book has a real tension that is palpable throughout. If you're looking for a story that builds then this is a great one for you. As a writer myself, I'm always looking at the craft, trying to see how they do things. In this case, it's a whole heap of research and some skill that comes together to tell a story you'll fall in love with.
I really like to see the skill of an author. And it's there to see in droves here. Look at the character building, the scenes and the imagery. If you're still in any doubt about that they let the story take over. It's gripping yet doesn't rush things too much. Further still, you will feel an affinity with the characters that will go a long way. Don't take my word for it - read the book yourself and see what I'm talking about.
