Slow burner
The first sentence had me hooked. The narrator of this book is the victim's sister's partner Will which I thought was interesting. "No valuables had been stolen, no money, no jewellery." - Typically people murder someone for those things but not for Adam. The first impression and premise of the book does a great job at keeping you on the edge of your seat and guessing.
However, I thought the rest of the book was very slow paced and there was very little going on. I wasn't invested in the characters and felt that there was no character development. I feel that the "twist" at the end wasn't very shocking either.
It's not a genre I would normally pick but I can appreciate that the author does a great job at explaining the forgery world and the writing style is interesting. I would probably not recommend this book if you want a fast paced book with more going on though.
