I loved The Familiars and these opening chapters suggest this one will be just as good. The cover design once again is amazing, guaranteed to make a magpie like me want to read a book! The start of the story, with Bess having to give up her daughter, is a high-impact start, making you want to know more about their fate. Definitely a book that’s going to the top of my TBR pile!
