A bit like her other bestseller the familiars this has a beautiful front cover which would make me pick eh book up without even checking what it is about. The first looks start off with Bess in a hospital giving up her child, but the first chapter does not give anything additional away.
The blurb is intriguing enough for me to want to read. Though whether it will have some of the same witchcraft themes in as the familiars I don't know!
