I loved Stacey Halls’ debut book, The Familiars, so I naturally went into reading this first chapter with high expectations, and this did not disappoint.
We are introduced to our main character Bess, and her plight, as the story begins at the Foundling hospital in 18th century London.
If the synopsis or first chapter doesn’t draw your attention then the cover of this book certainly will. The cover design and illustration is simply beautiful.
I can’t wait to read more of Bess’ story and see what journey Halls’ will take us on. This is going to be a captivating read!
