I loved Stacy Hall's debut novel The Familiars and I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to read The Foundling. I'm a huge fan of historical fiction and this extract makes me feel like I'm right there in 18th Century London. The cover is gorgeous and makes it clear that motherhood is one of the main themes, the image of the locked birdcage is intriguing and makes me want to pick up the book. I was engrossed from the first few words and would love, love, love to read the rest of this novel.
