Sounds just as good as The Familiars

Stacey Halls has a great knack for creating a sense of place in her novels. The Familiars was very evocative and The Foundling seems as though it'll match up to her debut novel. Her fictional worlds seem completely real and she slowly and delicately develops the world her characters are inhabiting. Her female characters are particularly strong and I'm looking froward to hearing more about Bess's story.
