I love how the cover to the foundling almost matches the cover of Stacey's debut novel, the familiars. This novel starts out quite differently to her first with intricate detailing of a woman forced to relinquish her newly born child. Written in a way which shows the harsh nature of a historical unmarried woman birthing a child, handing it over and returning to work the next day, the first two chapters grip you and make you want to delve deeper into this portion of time.

I am interested to see how Clara is taken, who has taken her and why. Historical fiction with a splash of mystery. This just sounds great!
