What a lovely front cover design, this is sure to get noticed in a bookshop. I have previously read and enjoyed "the familiars" and at first look this looks just an enthralling read. Things were so different in those times, but I'm sure that the situation that the mother finds herself in would be horrendous and would love to read this book to find out what happens.
