Just reading an extract of this book has got me excited to read the rest. Stacey Halls writing is something of pure beauty. She manages to capture a time period and really take you back to that moment with intermate detail, almost as though you are standing right beside the characters.
The opening of her new novel is intriguing and has already got me gripped and wanting to know how this novel will play out. The story is kept at steady pace, nothing happens too swiftly and yet everything happens seems to be timed perfectly. I can tell her second novel is going to be as exciting, tender and striking as her first. Her characters have a great complexity and realism that makes you feel deeply for them. This one is going to be good, I can just feel it!
