This book was such an interesting read. As a fan of historical fiction, it immediately piqued my interest. It was an interesting way to learn about the Foundling hospital and how it supported many women in a time period that offered little other support.

The author does a fantastic job of fully justifying each women's view of why she is the rightful mother of the dear child and I found myself and multiple points torn on my position of who was in the right. The narrative was engaging and the element of mystery kept me engaged but also sorting through the moral dilemma of the story kept me engaged as well.

There are some historical inaccuracies and the narrative is very modern which makes it slightly disconnected from the historical context. However, the story is deeply moving and one I will not soon forget.
