The Foundling is a really well written book that captures me from the start. On reading the blurb and looking at the front cover, I wasn’t too sure a historic time period novel would be my thing but how wrong I was!
I was gripped by the place babies were taken to and the process that took place when they were taken from mother’s who couldn’t care for them.
The description of the town and the fishmongers market was brilliantly written so that I could imagine the scene in my mind for the 17th century. It also introduced several other characters as it went along easily and with the flow of the writing.
This book absolutely kept me gripped and wanting the read the rest and would be something I would definitely go out and buy!
