I love Stacey Halls. Her previous novel, The Familiars, had me fall in love with the world she creates. The Foundling in my opinion exceeds her previous novel. she has gone from strength to strength, carving out such complex narratives and fully fleshed characters that we feel multiple feelings for.
this novel is great for anyone who loves historical fiction. however I would also say its a great read for anyone getting into the novel. she describes Georgian London wonderfully, and the character Bess sort of reminds me of Nancy in Sarah Waters Tipping the Velvet! Alexandra contrasts Bess, and the Dr is very loveable too.
