This was a wonderfully atmospheric and immersive book that was sometimes painful to read. At times, I was yearning for certain people do do or not to do certain things, and aching for them. Many of the descriptions were so incredibly real and raw and showcased emotions that characters were going through in a very realistic way whilst not being gratuitous. The writing style flows easily and you find yourself swept up before you realise what's happened. This is definitely one of those stories that you think about in between reading, wondering what will happen.
