London, 1754, six years ago Bess Bright left her baby at the The Foundling hospital. She is now back there to claim her baby back but there is a problem, the baby has already been claimed.

I read The Familiars and didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. However The Foundling was a different kettle of fish and I really enjoyed the book.

The story follows Bess who is from the poorer side of London and Alexandria who is from the more well off. Two very different women who have a connection. I really enjoyed the story and found I couldn't wait to pick up the book. I found the story very interesting and did want to see how it was going to end.

The ending of the book could have gone two ways. The ending the story did have I found a little sugary and tied the story up with a bow, but this isn't a bad thing. Overall I really enjoyed this story of motherhood and how differently people have to live their lives. I would highly recommend this book.

Thank you to the publisher via @readersfirst for the chance to read and review the book.
