I discovered Stacey Halls last year whilst at the Cheltenham Literature Festival and really enjoyed her first book The Familiars so I knew that I was bound to love The Foundling, and I did.
The book is easy to read and well written so I was able to read it quickly. It is descriptive and I really felt that I was living in London during the era.
Although this is a stand alone book, I was glad that I had read The Familiars first. I would really recommend both.
The cover, like The Familiars, is absolutely stunning and a truly beautiful piece of art work in its own right.
I cannot wait to see what Stacey Halls comes out with next. Hopefully we will not have to wait too much longer. Perhaps in 2022??
