I really enjoyed this book, I absolutely love love love love Stacey Halls, as a writer. Her writing is so detailed and her characters have so much depth and personality that you just get hooked and engrossed in the story.
I love her other book as well.
The Foundling has so many twists and unexpected things happen, it really kept me engrossed.
You felt so sorry for the main character Bess Bright, being poor and so innocent and being taken in with what she thought was love. She trys to do what's best for her daughter Clara. When she goes back to get her from the Foundling Hospital, Clara is not there. She is told that she Bess had already collected her when that wasn't the case. As the reader you are just as shocked as she was. You are connected to her and want her to find Clara as much as she does.
Such an easy read, I'll definitely be reading her new one when it comes out later this year
