I adored this so much, it was the most perfect story.
It was at times heartbreaking, tragic but very, very touching and sincere.
I loved all the characters and really felt their emotions, the author did a wonderful job of portraying the grief of Ness giving up her daughter, the loneliness and insecurity of Alexandra but all the supporting, lesser characters like Dr. Mead, Lyle, Ambrosia and even the servants were all strong, believable characters.
Cannot praise this enough it had everything I could want in a good read, history, drama, suspense.
One of my favourite reads so far, I love this author and can't wait to read more from her in future.
Definitely a must for historical / period novels fans.
