This book offers an intriguing look at the parallels between the poorer working class and those from a more affluent upbringing in the Georgian era. Halls' level of description and detail allows the reader to feel as though they are walking through the streets of 1754 London themselves.
This novel is split into four parts, which allows the pace and flow of the book to be well maintained and readable, with the alternation between Bess and Alexandra's narrative points really adding to the depth of the book, and the connections between the characters and the reader.
This novel is once again a testament to the amazing writing skills that Stacy Halls has, and I cannot wait to see what she writes next.
