The cover immediately sets the scene; time, place, genre. I was attracted because my mother was a nurse in central London before the war. The hospital was evacuated to Kent and then in 1941 my mother signed up to the Queen Alexandra Nusing Corp and was shipped to India.
Having heard so much about hospital nursing in that period I'll be intrigued to read this novel.
