This is a sweet tale where there is light and hope at the end of a dismal tunnel.
It is based on an orphaned trainee nurse during the second world war and the comradeship that April received through this time . True love isn't all plain sailing and the book shows this too. Loved all the characters they were memorable and likeable and although this is not my usual book to pick of the shelf I found it an easy enjoyable read . It gives you an insight into the prejudice that existed even in the time of war which was an eye opener to me as it was before my time and something I was unaware of .My mother seen me reading this book and has asked me to pass it on . The book has larger print and would bring back memories for an older reader so is ideal for her.
