I'm not sure what my first impression of this book is, I wasn't overly taken by the blurb, but the enigma of what Iris was going to do intrigued me. The first impression read really just sets the scene and characters. You still don't know what the actual story is going to play out like, but I still found the need to keep reading. The main character Iris isn't a typical heroine, she describes nice people as being dumb. I think this is also intriguing as it would interesting to see if enough empathy can be created by the author for the character, to make us root for her in whatever she is about to do to her twin sister.
