Wow! What an opening! You really would not suspect that this was a debut novel.

The layers of intrigue in the opening chapters are incredible and brilliantly fed into the story without interrupting the flow of the writing.

The will and the various scandals of Ridge's life imply that The Girl in the Mirror may well be the next Big Little Lies, particularly if the section labelled "Iris" is a hint that this book may have multiple POVs.

The most intriguing thing to me is the relationship between the sisters. Iris mentions a failed marriage but Summer's seems idyllic on the surface. However, the fact that Summer installed a corner mirror suggests that maybe her life isn't as perfect as it seems? Maybe she wants to see someone else in the mirror as well?
