instantly from the cover of this book i knew it would be the perfect summer read, however it is definitely a book to take on holiday to read by the pool and not bring back.
from the start iris’s ‘obsession’ with her twin, summer, was odd but the twists and turns made it bizarre. i have never read a book with so many plot twists. it made it quite hard to keep up and understand as at parts, where i thought there would be more detail, there would be another twist, or some parts that seemed a bit uninteresting seemed to be ver detailed, for example the in-depth description of bathshebas layout and specific details about how to sail.

i found the style of writing odd as it was wierdly sexual at points but almost felt like it was written for teenagers to understand. at points it felt like i was reading a yacht manual or a guide to sailing and i just couldnt grasp the exact style of writing or whom this book was aimed for.

this was an interesting read to say the least and i am glad to have read it but it did just leave me a bit underwhelmed and confused at the end.
