The Girl in the Mirror - Rose Carlyle

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Atlantic Books and I am leaving this review voluntarily

Twin sisters Iris and Summer are startlingly alike, but beyond what the eye can see lies a darkness that sets them apart. Cynical and insecure, Iris has long been envious of Summer’s seemingly never-ending good fortune, including her perfect husband Adam.

Called to Thailand to help her sister sail the family yacht to the Seychelles, Iris nurtures her own secret hopes for what might happen on the journey. But when she unexpectedly finds herself alone in the middle of the Indian Ocean, everything changes. When she makes it to land, Iris allows herself to be swept up by Adam, who assumes that she is Summer.

I was intrigued by this book throughout, it is full of suspense and will leave you on the edge of your seat. The first section of the book gets off to a slow start but the speed soon picks up once you get onto part two.

My best suggestion for this book, ironically, would be to not read too many reviews and go into it with an open-mind. I have seen many mixed reviews on this book and personally I feel that some of the reviews contain unintentional spoilers.

I enjoyed this book and really struggled when it was time to stop reading, the only thing stopping me from giving a five star review is the slow start.
