Trauma at Sea
"The Girl in the Mirror" by Rose Carlyle is a fasinating read once you have judged the pace of the story.
As someone who spent his younger years mostly at sea I found this book to be both memory evoking and intuative.
All of the seamanship and sailing termanology was both acurate and instructive in a way that even a landlubber could understand what Iris had to do especially in her search for Summer.
I found the plot a bit of a struggle at first but it soon became clear as the read progressed.
A first class debut to suspensfull writing and I will read Rose Carlyle again.
I would have expected a bit more at the end on how Iris/ Summer's relationship with Adam progressed after the death of Summer in what was an unexpected and surprising scenario.
Perhaps a sequal to this exciting story is in the offing?
Thank you Rose for your first novel a really good read.
