Ambrosia has a University reunion with a toxic Friend-acquaintance. Too long with little substance; surprised that some reviewers took 5mins to read this.

Ive read long books, but what makes the classics so great is the attention to detail and characters who spring into life. Some of them can be tough going at times, which is how I found this extract.

Ambrosia is a flawed character with a deviant history, this should be interesting, but the focus is on childhood naivety and the fluid personality changes which occur in early adulthood. Which is not a bad concept, but the first person perspective revealed flaws in character development rather than immerse me in the story of Ambrosia. There could be sound reasons for this, the American location and behaviours were very specific, which did not adhere too well with my non-American perspective In life. Its early in the morning and Ive just extinguished a toilet ghost too.

The text should still be capable of engaging on some level, and it just didnt. There were a few sections which i enjoyed, but not enough to make this my cup of tea.
