A poor first impression in my view, I could see what the author was building towards but it just didn't really click or hold my attention, then again I'm possibly not the intended audience.

The hints and mystery about something awful having happened to the lead character when she was a girl in college and the nice girl/mean girl contradictions that the author is putting in place just about kept me reading through the first impression, but I'm not sure It's a novel I'd want to continue with.

Whilst it could be a interesting thriller it seemed more of a banal gossipy novel and the college dramas and flicking between past and present just didn't do it for me. A lot of the interactions between characters seemed forced and shallow.

It almost reminds me a bit of 'The Temple House Vanishing' which I took a chance on only to dislike it, and 'The girls are so Nice here ' just hasn't drawn in my attention to want to read further or give it a go.
