I actually preferred the 'Then' side of the story rather than the 'Now', because Flora and Sully were interesting contrasting characters. If I see this in a bookshop, I would have flicked through the 'Then' parts to find out what happened (because I do want to know), and then not buy the book. This is not a fair way to review a book. The cover and title really draw the reader in, and I had high hopes considering it was compared to The Girls, but it didn't quite live up to my high expectations.
