This is very different from my usual genre of books but I found it very engaging. As a woman I can relate to the different types of girls out there and how you go through the phase of discovering your true self - it looks like this is happening for them in college.

I really really want to know what happened and why Ambrosia is the way she is now and if she has any regrets. I love the moral ambiguity to her character - we all have a touch of mean girl inside us but express it in different ways. I wasn’t sure if the invitation came from Sully or someone else so it’s been interesting watch it unfold to show Flora. I can already tell that something happened and my mind is racing to a whole number of potential scenarios. Flora seems like one of those irritating goody two shoes that you only really appreciate when you are older, so I can see how she would have annoying in college. I can also see the allure of Sully being all enigmatic and dazzling in her eccentricity - she’s the girl we would all want to be that is effortlessly cool but also seems like she’s not playing up to the male gaze (based on the last page I read).

This book is well written and in five chapters is already taut with tension and has me hooked. I’m getting a feminist slant from the depiction of their characters and want to see how that develops. Can’t wait to read it in its entirety.
