This gave me memoirs of a geisha vibes but with accidental murder. I just want to delve right in and find out how Clementine and Aster find their way through this! I love the premise, of an empire torn apart and the dustbloods who don't cast a shadow!

I was drawn in initially by the cover, it is beautiful. Then I was drawn in by the synopsis which promises so many things. Finally, I was drawn in by the writing. Charlotte Nicole Davis seems to have created a world where the only avenue to freedom is to fight for it and run from your oppressors. I'm excited to read more!
