I'm not a great fan of fantasy novels and I don't think this one is for me. I struggled with the descriptive writing and just couldn't engage with the storyline, I'm afraid. Though the extract was descriptive and hard hitting, especially the prologue scene, I felt the book seemed a bit slow and heavy going but I may be wrong!
