The good luck girls is a story based on a divided world where discrimination meets a new level. It shows the intricate take of seventeen-year-old Aster, who is imprisoned in a "welcome house" on show for various men across the country, and her escape from her slave-life, in an attempt to save her sister from excecution. The five girls take a literal 'leap of faith' to leave their old lives behind and start one's of their own choosing, whilst on the run.
This book is incredible, and a must read. It shows many teenage girls they can stand up for themselves and fight for what they believe in. Davis has found a way of voicing her opinion on racism, sexism and general discrimination through her writing, in an original way. The good luck girls is inspiring.
