*I was sent an ARC copy for review from the publisher. All opinions are my own*

I went into this book a bit hesitantly, because it didn’t really sound like my kind of thing, but I actually ended up really enjoying it. It has a western vibe to it, which I always think I won’t like and then I end up liking it.

I really loved the whole idea of the magical tattoos known as favors. I’ve never read anything else with something like that. I really enjoyed the added obstacles they had everywhere they went because of their favors. It made the story even more interesting.

There were some parts of this book that were utterly heartbreaking. I really grew to love all the girls so much during my reading experience, so it was really hard to read about all the horrible things they have had to go through in their lives.

This book also contains LGBT rep, if that is something you are interested in.

My only real issue with this book is that whenever I put it down, when I had to go to bed or to work, I would struggle to get the motivation to pick it up, but when I did pick it up again I got really into it, so I have no idea why that was.

From going in not sure if I would like this book, I am now highly anticipating the sequel, and I would recommend it if you like western inspired fantasy.

Also, the UK cover is stunning, and you need it on your shelves.
