From the second I started reading I was hooked. The characters grab you from the start and have you rooting for them throughout the whole story. Taken from their family and sold into servitude theirs is a life no one would wish on their worst enemy. And when one of the girls kills a man by mistake they make a bid for freedom to save her from being hanged. Chased across the lands by the farther of the dead man who has a horde of men at his command who can get in to your mind and give you both pain and visions of your worst nightmares would be bad enough for most. But when you have the undead trying to rip you apart at every turn you wonder if they will all get through it. Set in a land that reminds you of how it would have been in the old west without the cowboys it's story telling at its best. Written in a way that immerses you in the story from word one this is an amazing first novel. Although this ties everything up and leaves no loose ends I hope she gives us a follow on from this story as I want to know even more.
