I usually struggle with fantasy world building but i found it easy to relax into the fantasy of this book. I was keen to fall into this Wild West style YA fantasy book.
I love the idea of the flowers on the neck and the names being the same, it's such a beautiful idea.
The book is written in such a way that reminds you that it's obviously fiction but has you questioning the systems and attitudes within the story and in the end questioning the way that it applies to real life.
Although the book is aimed at a YA audience, i wouldn't recommend it to a younger audience due to the strong themes addressed within. However, unlike most YA novels, i feel this book would also cater to an older audience as the themes within the book would be thoroughly entertaining regardless of the younger target audience.
